BRTS Projects sanctioned across 11 cities in seven States under JnNURM


The Central Government has sanctioned Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) Projects to 11 cities in seven states across the country under JnNURM (UIG) including the Transition Phase. The States include Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab, Rajasthan and West Bengal. The details include seven projects/phases of BRTS in Pune (Maharashtra), three each in Ahmedabad (Gujarat), Indore (Madhya Pradesh), Jaipur (Rajasthan), two in Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), one each in Vijayawada & Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh), Rajkot & Surat (Gujarat), Amritsar (Punjab) and Kolkata (West Bengal). More than 500 km are to be covered under these BRTS Projects sanctioned by the Union Urban Development Ministry under the flagship programme JnNURM. 

This information was given by the Minister of State for Urban Development Smt. Deepa Dasmunshi in a written reply to the Lok Sabha.
