World Class Facilities at Major Airports

Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Shri K. C. Venugopal informed the Lok Sabha today that most of the major airports have been ranked upto second in the world.  They are equipped with the world-class facilities. 
An Airport Service Quality Survey has been carried out at the airports which handled 5-15 million passengers per annum. During April-June 2013, Hyderabad and Bengaluru airports were ranked 2nd and 25th respectively among world airports. Mysore and Jalgaon airports have not been ranked so far as only limited airlines are operating at these airports.

The details of the new airport projects undertaken during the 10th and 11th Five Year Plan are as under:

A.      New Airports Projects:

1. Mysore Airport 2. Jalgaon, 3. Bhatinda - New Civil Enclave 4. Bikaner - New Civil Enclave  5Jaisalmer - New Civil Enclave 6. Kadapa 7. Pakyong 8. Tezu 9. Pudduchery.

B. New Greenfield Airports Projects:

1. Hyderabad International Airport,
2. Bengaluru International Airport;

Four out of the above 11 projects have been completed by the end of 11th Five Year Plan.
