The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting had sent a reference to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), seeking recommendations of TRAI on certain terms and conditions for extension of DTH licence, on expiry of the 10 years licence period. The key issues discussed in this consultation paper pertain to the entry fee, bank guarantee and period of licence.
As part of the consultative process, a consultation paper has been uploaded on the TRAI website, seeking comments/ views of the stakeholders. Stakeholders have been requested to offer their views/comments latest by 15th October 2013.
