The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee has strongly condemned the terrorist attacks in Paris.
In a message to His Excellency Mr. Francois Hollande, the President of the French Republic, the President said, “I heard with sorrow and disbelief the news of the deadly attacks in Paris last night in which so many innocent lives were cruelly extinguished. Please accept my heartfelt condolences.
The people of India stand by the people of France in their hour of grief. We pray for the families that have lost loved ones and all others affected by these senseless acts of violence against the open society of France.
India strongly condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. We believe that there can be no justification for such cowardly acts in which blameless citizens are harmed. India believes that all disputes and differences must be resolved through peaceful means.
The events of last night are a grim reminder that the world must come together to address comprehensively and urgently the scourge of terrorism, its perpetrators and also those who support or harbour them.”
