Let us develop together on a foundation of mutual trust and respect: Vice President Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu


Offers traditional Angavastrams and hosts lunch to the visiting African dignitaries
The Vice President of India, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu has said that let us develop together on a foundation of mutual trust and respect. He was interacting with the Vice President of Zimbabwe, Gen. (Rtd.) Dr. Constantino Chiwenga, the Vice President of Uganda, Mr. Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi, the Vice President of the Republic of Malawi, Dr. Saulos Klaus Chilima and the Secretary General for Burundi, Major General Ndayishimiye Evariste at a luncheon hosted at the Hyderabad House, here today. The Union Minister for External Affairs, Smt. Sushma Swaraj and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.

The Vice President offered traditional 'Angavastrams' to the visiting dignitaries and explained them about the rich cultural heritage of India in which guests are treated like ‘gods’ – Atithi Devo Bhava. He expressed his happiness at the growing friendship and bilateral ties between India and various African countries. 

The visiting dignitaries thanked the Vice President for the warmth and hospitality and they invited the Indian Vice President to visit their countries.
