Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has implemented all the recommendations made by Dr. P. Rama Rao Committee which were within its power. Remaining accepted recommendations are at various stages of necessary approvals for implementation.
The Committee had also recommended creation of a Board of Research for Advanced Defence Sciences (BRADS) to function on the lines of Defence Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) of USA. However, the recommendation regarding creation of BRADS was not accepted by the Government.
This information was given by Minister of State for Defence Rao Inderjit Singh in a written reply to Smt Poonam Mahajan in Lok Sabha today.
