A one-day workshop on “Environmental Impact Assessment – Challenges in India and Way Forward”, will discuss issues related to the environmental clearance process in the country. The workshop will be inaugurated by Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Shri Prakash Javadekar on April 25 at Vigyan Bhawan.
The workshop will also address the international trends in the field of Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) reports (required for obtaining environmental clearance in India) and a way forward for our country. More than 250 participants are likely to attend the workshop from various parts of the country. It will also be attended by senior officials of the Ministry, members of the Environmental Appraisal Committees at Central and state levels, accredited EIA consultants, representatives of the industry, amongst others.
