ICG-BCG High Level Meeting

A High Level Meeting was conducted between Indian Coast Guard and Bangladesh Coast Guard, here yesterday. While Rear Admiral Mohammad Makbul Hossain, Director General Bangladesh, Coast Guard led the Bangladesh delegation, his Indian counterpart Vice Admiral HCS Bisht led the Indian delegation. 

Several important issues including training for Bangladesh Coast Guard personnel, cooperation on combating maritime crimes, maritime Search & Rescue and Pollution response at sea were discussed during the meeting. The meeting is a step ahead in institutionalisation of cooperation between the two Coast Guards. 

The Bangladesh Coast Guard delegation is scheduled to visit Mumbai and Kolkata before they depart for Dhaka on 10 April 2015 and shall be briefed on various facets of ICG operations and shipbuilding in India.
