100% Saturation Reported from Madhya Pradesh in Terms of Coverage of All Households with At Least One Bank Account
The Central Government has invited suggestions from people on www.mygov.in for successful completion of Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana. Meanwhile, State of Madhya Pradesh has reported 100% saturation (in terms of coverage of all households with at least one bank account) as on 30.11.2014. There were 1.53 crore Households of which 1.03 crore Households were having bank accounts. 49.96 Lac new Households were covered and 58.64 Lac accounts were opened. States of Goa, Kerala & Tripura, Union Territories of Chandigarh, Puducherry and Lakshadweep and Nineteen districts of Gujarat had already covered all households under PMJDY with at least one bank account.
Besides it, 8.39 crore accounts have been opened under PMJDY as on 1st December, 2014(01.12.2014). RuPay Cards have been issued in 5.32 crore accounts. 97.45% Survey work has been completed. As per survey results, 85.20% Household coverage has been achieved. District wise bifurcation of Household coverage (as on 15.11.14) is as under:
