National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has deployed 14 Rescue and Relief Teams comprising more than 550 Rescuers with boats and other flood rescue equipment as proactive measures to mitigate the situation during cyclonic storm ‘Nilofar’ in Gujarat.
One team each is deployed at Somnath, Gandhidam, Dwarka, Porbandar, Junagarh, Veeraval, Rajkot and Vadodara while two teams each have been deployed at Surat, Kutch and Bhuj.
In addition to the above 14 NDRF teams, two more teams are deployed in Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
Shri Randeep Rana, DIG, NDRF is being sent to coordinate the NDRF operations with State authorities at Gandhinagar.
