Need to change the perception of people about the bureaucracy – Prakash Javadekar

Environment Minister inaugurates Leadership and Motivation Conclave

Minister of State for Environment, Forests and Climate Change, Shri Prakash Javadekar has said that two way dialogue between people and government was the process of Administrative Reforms. This would establish a roadmap and participation of people for two-way communication. People’s participation was necessary for creating a conducive environment in which institutional development could take place. New mantras and innovation always infused a fresh spirit in the governance model and related practices. The Minister stated this while addressing the delegates at the Leadership and Motivation Conclave which was organized by the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change here today. 

Elaborating further, the Minister said that there was a need to change the perception of the people about the bureaucracy. Officials needed to work with compassion, conviction and with a positive mindset so as to facilitate the needs of the people. The Minister categorically stated that there would be complete freedom for doing the work. He asked the officers to give people the confidence that the government was responsive to their needs and was concerned about their problems. 

As part of the innovational practices adopted by the government, the Minister has invited Mr. Shiv Khera, a motivational speaker and the author of famous book “You Can Win” to address the environment ministry officials and Information and broadcasting officials at leadership and motivation conclave. In a two hour discussion, Mr. Shiv Khera sought to inspire his audience by narrating several anecdotes and sharing personal experiences. He has touched upon many motivational concepts in the interactive session that he had with the officials.
