As per preliminary reports on the sowing of crops, sowing of rabi crops has started in some parts of the country.
As against 5.98 lakh hectare last year, pulses have been sown in 8.8 l.ha so far in the current rabi sown.
Sugarcane has been planted in 0.81 l.ha as compared to 0.80 l.ha at this time last year.
Oilseeds have been sown in 2.63 l.ha as compared to 8.51 l.ha last year. It has been reported that sowing of rapeseed & mustard this year is running late as compared to last year.
The sowing of kharif crops is over except for rice in some parts of the country. As compared to 374.73 l.ha on 25th October last year, the area under kharif rice stands at 383.57 l.ha as on today.
