The government has created a cell in Delhi Development Authority for retrofitting and reconstruction of unsafe houses from the viewpoint of earthquakes.
An Advisory Group of experts from various fields has also been constituted for expert opinion.
The buildings designed and constructed by Delhi Development Authority and Central Public Works Department are earth quake resistant conforming to relevant Bureau of Indian Standard Codes and other National Standards..
This was informed by the Minister of State of Urban Development, Mrs Deepa Dasmunshi in the Rajya Sabha.
