18 Young Nursing Students Commissioned as Lieutenants into Military Nursing Service

     Commissioning ceremony of the 54th batch of probationer nurses, School of Nursing was held at Ayurvigyan Auditorium, Delhi Cantt today. 

Lt Gen A S Narula, Commandant, Army Hospital (R&R) was the Chief Guest for the ceremony. The ceremony was also graced by Maj Gen H. Bhullar, Addl DGMNS. 

Maj Gen Sunita Kapoor, Principal Matron, Army Hospital (R&R) welcomed the dignitaries. Lt Col Punita A Sharma, Principal Tutor delivered the batch report. 

The 18 young nursing students commissioned as Lieutenants into Military Nursing Service will be posted to various Armed Forces Hospitals. Chief Guest in his address congratulated the newly Commissioned Nursing Officers and their proud parents. He emphasized to face the challenges ahead, work hard with dedication and to be an asset to the organization. He urged the Newly Commissioned Nursing Officers to nurture the ethics of MNS and uphold the tradition of MNS as well as to keep abreast with the latest developments in the field of medicine and nursing. 

Maj Gen H J Bhullar, in her address emphasized that the practice of nursing in today`s scenario is influenced by modernization and advancement in scientific technology yet none of this can replace the touch in the nursing. Nursing demands qualities of compassion, empathy, devotion, courteous and politeness, initiativeness and patience clubbed with intelligence and above all co-operation and good team spirit.
