Installation of CCTV Cameras at Chennai and Madurai Airports

An additional requirement of 400 and 57 CCTV cameras respectively, has been assessed by Airports Authority of India (AAI) for Chennai and Madurai airports. 651 CCTV cameras are presently installed at Chennai airport in and 41at Madurai airport. The AAI have allocated Rs.5 Crore and Rs.0.8 Crore, respectively, for installation of additional CCTV cameras in these airports. The project is likely to be completed by end of this financial year in Chennai airport and by August, 2017 in Madurai airport. 

This information was given by Minister of State for Civil Aviation Shri Jayant Sinha in a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha today.
