Mass practice session of Yoga organized in Lucknow as a precursor to the main event of IDY-2017 to be held on 21st June at Lucknow

A mass Yoga Practice Session was organised at Raj Bhawan Lucknow today (07 June) as a precursor to the mass event of 3rd International Day of Yoga to be held at Lucknow on 21st June, 2017. The Yoga Session was attended by the Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Ram Naik, Chief Minister Yogi Aditya Nath, Deputy Chief Ministers Shri Keshav Prasad Maurya and Dr. Dinesh Sharma, Yoga Guru Swami Ramdev and Swami Bharat Bhushan. The event was organised by the Ministry of Ayush, Uttar Pradesh Government.
Around 1500 participants from Patanjali YogPeeth, Gayatri Pariwar, Art of Living, Mokshayatan, Brahmakumaris, NSS, NCC volunteers, Yoga Department, Lucknow University, Isha Foundation and Indian Yoga Institute participated in the Yoga Session.
Speaking at the event, Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Ram Naik stated that yoga is a 5000 years old technique. He said balancing mental health and physical health is Yog. He further added that Uttar Pradesh Raj Bhawan is the first Raj Bhawan of our country where a precursor yoga practice session has been organised. He said that the entire world should benefit from yoga and more and more people must pledge to practice yoga in their daily lives.
Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath said that synchronization between healthy mind and healthy body is Yoga. He further added that a healthy body leads to a healthy mind which further leads to development of a healthy society. He highlighted that doing yoga is a gratitude to our ancestors.
The event was attended by various Ministers of Uttar Pradesh Government, Judges, Senior bureaucrats and Defence personnel.
