LED screens for free public viewing of Champions Trophy matches installed by Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports at Major Dhyanchand National Stadium, New Delhi

Union Minister of State (I/C) for Youth Affairs & Sports Shri Vijay Goel here today inaugurated Mega LED screen at Major Dhyanchand National Stadium, New Delhi for free public viewing of ICC Champions Trophy matches. While England is playing against Pakistan in the first semi-final today, India will take on Bangladesh in the second semi-final tomorrow i.e 15 June, 2017. The winners of the semi-finals will fight for the ICC Champions Trophy in the final scheduled for 18 June, Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion Shri Vijay Goel said that this has been done to utilize the free space in the stadium and also provide everyone a chance to watch the matches for free on the mega screen. He said Ministry is considering to install such mega screens on permanent basis.
The Minister further stated that the idea is to initiate sports culture among the public and optimum utilization of the stadiums, in future we will have mini-fests too that would create a huge buzz for sporting events across India.
