The Union Finance Minister to release Gender Parity Index specific to India in the formal sector tomorrow.

The Union Minister of Finance, Defence and Corporate Affairs Shri Arun Jaitley will release Gender Parity Index specific to India in the formal sector during the 33rd Annual Session of FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) to be held in New Delhi tomorrow. 

The main aim of developing Gender Parity Index commissioned jointly by FLO and FICCI is to evaluate gender diversity and empowerment of women in the formal sector and the progress made over the years. The Index will serve as framework for measuring gender parity and produce an overall score of an organisation and reflect it on the index. 

Apart from releasing the gender Parity Index, Union Minister will also present the FLO Icon awards to Ms Farah Khan, Director, Producer, Actor & Choreographer, Ms Shobhana Bhartia, Chairperson & Editorial Director, Hindustan Times Group, Ms Anita Dongre, Fashion Designer & House of Anita Dongre, Ms Renu Sud Karnad , Managing Director, Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC), Dr Pratap C. Reddy, Founder, Chairman Apollo hospitals Enterprise Limited, Mr Mahavir Singh Phogat, Indian Wrestler and Olympic Coach.
