Daily Weather Forecast

The weather information (Maximum, Minimum temperatures, Rainfall and Sky condition, etc.) and forecast for next 7 days for 310 important cities and towns in all the states and union territories of India is issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) and is made available on the National and Regional websites of IMD.

Doppler Weather Radar (DWR) network is employed in the country to improve the severe weather surveillance capability and for operating now-casting service. The details of the DWR system installed in the country, location and state-wise are as below:

Augmentation of the observing system networks including DWR network is a continuing process that shall be taken up as per the emerging needs from time to time. Additional DWRs will be placed in a phased manner based on service requirements related to land and associated infrastructure in various parts of the country.
