Tribal Youth Exchange Programme

The Minister of State (I/C) for Youth Affairs and Sports Shri Vijay Goel said in the Lok Sabha today that the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan has organized 9th Tribal Youth Exchange Programme for the development of tribal youth with the support of Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India in the year 2016-17.  The 9th Tribal Youth Exchange Programmes have been organized at ten   venues  viz. Hyderabad (Andhra Pradesh), Jaipur (Rajasthan), Delhi, Bengaluru (Karnataka), Vadodara (Gujarat), Pune (Maharashtra), Chennai (Tamil Nadu), Jammu (J&K), Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) and Shimla (Himachal Pradesh).    In this Programme, selected tribal youth from districts affected by Left-Wing Extremist activities in the States of Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra and Bihar are taken to other parts of the country. 

In a written reply he said the programme aims to sensitize the tribal youth to rich cultural heritage of the Country and to enable them to appreciate the concept of unity in diversity, to expose them to development activities and technological/ industrial advancement in other parts of the country, to enable them to develop emotional linkage with the people in other parts of the country and to develop their personality by enhancing their understanding of the core life skills, identifying their skill development needs and providing them necessary career counselling.

2016-17
Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan has collaborated with North East Division, Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India for North East Youth Exchange Programme for the year 2016-17. In this Programme, the youth were drawn from 5 North Eastern States to visit Nagpur (Maharashtra).

The basic objectives of the program was to provide an opportunity to the Youth of 6 North Eastern States to visit Nagpur (Maharashtra) to understand the socio economic development, cultural ethos, language, lifestyles of the people depicting unity in diversity aspect of our national life and social and financial inclusion programmes of Govt.
