The Department of Heavy Industry, Ministry of Heavy Industries & Public Enterprise is, at present, not formulating any policy to prepare bio-fuels for hybrid vehicles. Ministry of Road Transport & Highways has, however, issued the following notifications to promote the use of hybrid vehicles:-
(i) G.S.R 682(E) dated 12/07/2016 regarding mass emission standard for flex-fuel (E85) or (E100) and ethanol (ED95) vehicles.
(ii) G.S.R 412(E) dated 11/04/2016 regarding Biodiesel.
(iii) G.S.R 629(E) dated 24.06.2016 regarding retro-fitment of Hybrid Electric Vehicles.
This information was given by Minister of State in the Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Shri Babul Supriyo in reply to a written question in the Lok Sabha today.
