The Government of Haryana has informed that the committee headed by Sh. Prakash Singh, IPS (Retd.) had been appointed to inquire into the acts of omission and commission on the part of all officers and officials of both Police and Civil administration during agitation for reservation in Haryana in February, 2016. The said committee submitted its report to the State Government on 13.5.2016. Necessary action has been taken by the State Government against the officers/officials indicted in the report of the said committee.
‘Police’ and ‘Public order’ are state subjects as per the VII Schedule to the Constitution of India. The State Government concerned is primary responsible for maintenance of law and order.
This was stated by the Minister of State for Home Affairs, Shri Hansraj Gangaram Ahir in a written reply to a question by Shri Dushyant Chautala in the Lok Sabha.
