The selection of districts for Mission Indradhanush is based on the number of unvaccinated and partially vaccinated children in the district. The next phase of Mission Indradhanush is proposed from February 2017 in North-eastern states and from April 2017 in other states.

The Government is introducing Pneumococcal Conjugate Vaccine (PCV) under UIP in a phased manner. In 2017, the vaccine is being introduced in parts of Bihar, parts of Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh as per the recommendations of the PCV expert group.

The Minister of State (Health and Family Welfare), Sh Faggan Singh Kulaste stated this in a written reply in the Lok Sabha here today.
