Promotion of Theatre Arts by M/O Culture

Promotion of Theatre Arts is a continuous process. Ministry of Culture through its autonomous organizations like National School of Drama (NSD) and Sangeet Natak Akademi takes various steps to promote Theatre Arts by performing plays, theatre workshops, outreach programmes and by organising Theatre Festivals like "Bharat Rang Mahotsav" inviting theatre groups from within the country as well as abroad, "Jasne Bachpan and Bal Sangam" for children, Tribal Festivals in different location of the country and Purvottar Theatre Festival.
Details of financial assistance provided to NGO's/Individuals during last two years under Repertory Grant and earlier Production Grant Scheme ( recently it has been merged with Cultural Function Production Grant Scheme), including theatre artists are given as under:-
