Rescue of Children by RPF under “Operation Muskaan – II

Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Ministry of Railways is continuing its efforts of rescuing of children under the Campaign “Operation Muskaan-II” launched by Union Ministry of Home Affairs from 1st July, 2016 to 31st July, 2016. During this campaign a total of 1261 children including 18 trafficked children were rescued by RPF from railway premises and trains. 

The Ministry of Railways in collaboration with Ministry of Women and Child Development and national Commission of Protection of Child Rights had issued Standing Operating Procedure (SOP) on 05.03.2015 for the better care and protection of the child in contact with Railways. The SOP at present is being implemented at 15 railways stations in addition to 20 stations where already Child Help Desks have been established.
