The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee has extended his greetings and felicitations to the Government and people of Canada on the eve of their National Day (July 01, 2016).
In a message to His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, the Governor-General of Canada, the President has said, “On behalf of the Government, the people of India and on my own behalf, it is with great pleasure that I convey warm greetings and felicitations on the occasion of your National Day.
Our relationship is underpinned by shared values of democracy and pluralism, close people-to-people ties and regular high level interactions. As strategic partners, India and Canada are engaged in deepening our bilateral cooperation in all agreed areas of common interest. My Government remains committed to working with the Government of Canada to further strengthen and expand our partnership to our mutual benefit.
Please accept, Excellency, my best wishes for your good health and well-being as well as for the continued progress and prosperity of the friendly people of Canada.”
