Restoration of Jagannath Temple

The Government’s attention has been drawn to a crack being detected in the 12th Century Shri Jagannath Shrine at Puri, Odisha. During the recent de-plastering work at the interior of Jagmohana of Shri Jagannath Temple, Puri, some cracks have been noticed in the stone beams 

Experts from Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), IIT Madras and Core Technical Committee for the Temple have visited the temple & submitted the reports. The suggestions have been examined and essential conservation work at the temple is attended regularly to maintain its legacy for future generations.

This information was given by Minister of State for Culture and Tourism (Independent Charge) and Minister of State for Civil Aviation Dr. Mahesh Sharma in a written reply in Lok Sabha today.
