SAG Archery


In the Compound Women Individual fight for the Bronze Medal the match was between Tammanna Parvin and Sushmita Banik of Bangladesh. Leading from the start, Sushmita finally ceded to Tammanna with only 3 points behind as the score stands at 138 against 135. 

It is Bhutan in the Compound Men Individual fight for Bronze Medal, with Tshewang Dorji and Tashi Deljor at their bows and arrows. Although he was leading all the way from start, Dorji almost caved to his opponent as Deljor kept up the pressure when he scored a straight 10 point in the second to last round. However, Dorji managed to maintain his aim on target and scraped by with only 1 point over Deljor’s at 138 points to grab the Bronze Medal. 

The fight for Gold Medal in the Compound Women Individual was between Purvasha Sudhir Shende and Jyoti Surekha Vennam. In this event, Purvasha was leading all the way, even as the competitors both hit the target all 10’s in the 4th Round, shaking her up a bit, however she managed to stay on top defeating Jyoti by 138 against 133 points to take home the Gold Medal. 

The fight for Gold Medal in the Compound Men Individual was between Abhishek Verma and Rajat Chauhan. Both archers maintained their steady aim, hitting nothing below 9 on the target. 

Abhishek was leading in the first round, but Rajat managed to equalize in the second round. In the third round Abhishek managed to stay ahead with 1 point but Rajat equalized the score in the 4th Round and when Abhishek could only hit 9’s in the last round, Rajat could hit two 10’s on the target putting him on the top with 144 points against Abhishek’s 142 to take away the Gold Medal in this division.
