An All India conference to finalize the National Population Register (NPR) will be held tomorrow in New Delhi. The finalization of local register of residents by the State Governments under the supervision of Registrar General, India will mark the completion of the first phaseleading to the preparation of National Register for Indian Citizen (NRIC). The Conference will be held under the Chairmanship of Shri Sailesh, Registrar General of Citizen Registration, India.
The issues slated for discussion in the Conference include proper updation of data base of every household in the country, strict quality control mechanisms and activating the monitoring mechanism. A presentation of NRC in Assam and e-KYC norms in Rajasthan will also be made by the officials of the State Governments. Senior State Governments officials including selected District Magistrates and field level officials and officials from Government of India have been invited for the Conference.
