The Minister of Finance, Government of British Columbia Mr. Michael de Jong, Q.C. called on the Minister of State (I/C) for Petroleum and Natural Gas Shri Dharmendra Pradhan today. The two Ministers discussed progress on various issues of hydrocarbon cooperation. Canada is one of the world's five largest energy producers and British Columbia alone might have world’s 2nd largest proven gas reserves.
Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOC) has acquired 10% interest in Pacific Northwest LNG project an integrated (upstream and LNG) project in Canada. PETRONAS is the operator of this project. The Project is awaiting statutory clearances. Mr. Jong assured to fast tract clearances by early next year.
