The Minister of State (I/C) for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, met H. E. Dr. Aldo Flores-Quiroga, Secretary General, International Energy Forum (IEF) on the sidelines of the 6th Asian Ministerial Energy Roundtable held at Sheraton Doha Resort & Convention Hotel, Doha.
The two sides exchanged views on the current global oil and gas markets and discussed possible ways of strengthening cooperation between India and the IEF. Dr. Aldo Flores-Quiroga appreciated the important role played by India in IEF, especially Indian contribution through the Joint Organisations Data Initiative (JODI). He urged India to assume greater responsibility on the IEF Executive Board and sought active participation from Indian energy companies in the Industry Advisory Committee (IAC) of IEF.
During the meeting, Shri Pradhan accepted IEF’s request for the hosting of the next IEF-IGU Gas Ministerial in 2016 in India.
IEF is an international energy organization comprising of 74 member countries working to foster greater mutual understanding and awareness of common energy interests among the buyers and sellers of energy resources.
