A meeting was held in the Committee Room of Shastri Bhavan, New Delhi on 20.10.2015 at 12:00 noon between Col. Rajyavardhan Rathore, MoS (I&B) and representatives of FTII Students Association. The Ministry officials were also present on the occasion. Ms. Aruna Raje, representative of GRAFTI was also part of the deliberations.
During the discussions, Minister reiterated Ministry’s commitment in establishing FTII as an Institution of National Excellence with adequate infrastructure. It was also reiterated that Government is committed to ensure academic & creative freedom and excellence in FTII and allayed any fears to the contrary.
The Ministry looks forward to paradigm / concept note / blue print to be submitted by the alumni / Students Association and also the Report of Mukesh Sharma Committee for taking the matter forward in an appropriate manner in the long term. The Ministry expressed concern over the non-compliance of the course schedule and asked for greater interaction between the administration and students for suggesting ways for keeping timelines. It was agreed that these issues will be discussed further.
