President of India’s message on the eve of Madaraka Day of Kenya

The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee has extended his greetings and felicitations to the Government and people of the Republic of Kenya on the eve of their Madaraka Day (June 1, 2015).

In his message to His Excellency Mr. Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta, the President of the Republic of Kenya, the President has said, “On behalf of the Government, the people of India and on my own behalf, it gives me immense pleasure to convey to you, to the Government and the people of the Republic of Kenya, my warm greetings and felicitations on the occasion of your Madaraka Day.

Based on historical linkages between our peoples, the relations between our two countries have traditionally been warm and friendly. Our countries also share common views on issues of regional and global interest and cooperate closely in regional and multi-lateral fora. Our bilateral engagement has been further strengthened in recent years by the expansion of trade and commerce. I am confident that, in the years to come, our cooperation will grow from strength to strength to the mutual benefit of our two peoples.

Please accept, Excellency, best wishes for your health, success and happiness, as well as for the continued progress and prosperity of the friendly people of the Republic of Kenya”.
