Upgradation of Medical Colleges Under PMSSY

Government of India has taken up gradation of 19 Government Medical Colleges (GMCs) in the first phase and second phase of PMSSY.  Details of upgradation projects completed and the projects in progress alongwith funds sanctioned/released for upgradation of these Institutions are given below:-

Detailed Project Reports for each of these Institutions are under preparation.
Under the newly introduced Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS) for “Upgradation of existing State Government/Central Government Medical Colleges to increase MBBS seats in the country”, proposals from the State of Odisha, Uttarakhand, Punjab and Karnataka have been received.
Under the new Centrally Sponsored Scheme for “Establishment of New Medical Colleges attached with District/Referral hospitals”, with fund sharing between the Central Government and State Government in the ratio of 90:10 for North East/special category States and 75:25 for other States with a total cost of Rs.189 crore per medical college, several district/referral hospitals have been identified.  The list is given below:-
