Union Commerce & Industry Minister Smt Nirmala Sitaraman launches website on e-governance initiatives of Coffee Board

New Delhi, October 20,2014 Union Minister of state (Independent Charge) for Commerce and Industry Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman launched ‘e-permit’ a website on e-governance initiatives of Coffee Board in Bangalore today. The website was launched on the sidelines of the interaction meeting with the stakeholders of coffee industry organized by Coffee Board. The meeting focused on issues related to white stem borer pest attack, problems of small coffee growers, pollution control norms for Western Ghats, Insurance scheme for plantation workers, technology transfer and 12th plan proposals. 

The minister also released the revised edition of ‘Coffee Guide Book’ and ‘Coffee Business Guide’. A movie narrating the history of coffee ‘The Coffee Connoisseur’ was also released on the occasion. 

Home Minister of Karnataka, Shri. K.J George, Stakeholders of coffee industry from Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala along with other dignitaries participated in the meeting.
