First Regional Community Radio Sammelan concludes


The first edition of the three-day Regional Community Radio Sammelan organized by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, came to an end today in Puducherry. The theme for the conference was ‘Connecting Communities – Empowering People’. The conference witnessed over 40 Community Radio stations from the Southern states. Community Radio Stations from Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Telangana, Maharashtra, Odisha and Puducherry have participated in the Regional Sammelan. The conference also delved into issues related to matters related to inclusion and the sustainability of the sector.
The Regional Sammelan aims to provide a platform for the operational Community Radio Stations to share their grassroots stories, successes and best practices.
