The Minister of State for Mines, Steel and Labour & Employment, Shri Vishnu Deo Sai has said thatGovernment has been implementing Skill Development Initiative (SDI) Scheme across the country including Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Bihar to provide training to school leavers as well as upgrading the existing skill of skilled/semi-skilled / unskilled youth including unorganized sector in various sectors of economy.
In a written reply in the Lok Sabha today, Shri Vishnu Deo Sai has said that the State-wise details of the number of persons trained/tested including unorganised sector workers under SDI scheme is at Annex-I. The Minister said that information with regard to employment has not been collected from the Vocational Training Providers (VTPs). Recently, a provision is being created on portal wherein Vocational Training Providers (VTPs) will be mandated to track the candidates for at least 12 months.
