Smt. Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Minister of Food Processing Industries met the Minister for Civil Aviation, Shri Ashok Gajapathi Raju Pusapati, here today and discussed with him the long pending issue of inauguration of airport in Bathinda pending since August 2012.
Smt. Badal also raised the issues of upgrading Sahnewal (Ludhiana) airport, for starting new international direct flights from Amritsar to Toronto and Birmingham and involving big companies to develop small airports.
The Civil Aviation Minister agreed to inaugurate the Bathinda airport at the earliest and he has directed his officials to expedite inauguration of the airport. The Civil Aviation Minister also assured that flights to Bathinda shall also start soon. Reminiscing the strong relationship Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu shares with Chief Minister of Punjab, S. Parkash Singh Badal the Civil Aviation Minister assured that his ministry shall fulfil all long pending demands of Punjab on priority.
