Producers will make more number of children’s films, if the government encourages more. Support from media and the audience said Sai Prasad, the producer of the Kannada movie “Sneha Yatre”.
The film is selected for Children’s World Category in the 18th International Children’s Film Festival of India (ICFFI) currently undergoing in Hyderabad.
Speaking to the media on the occasion, he particularly wanted motivation from the government for more and more children’s films to be produced. Prasad wanted that Hyderabad too can be added as a centre for selection of films for such mega events.
Flanked by Harshita, the girl who played the lead role in the Kannada flick, Prasad felt happy that his movie was selected for the festival. Prasad and Harshita, both hail from Hyderabad, shared their experiences while working for “Sneha Yatre”. He chose to make the film in Kannada as language, he felt, is not a barrier for children to learn the nuances of life.
The film revolves round how a boy struggled to pursue education despite lack of basic facilities and resources. Prasad, a TV film-maker too, also wants to produce such films in Telugu and said that “Sneha Yatre” has won accolades from the Kannada film industry besides appreciation from others.
Harshita recollected her experiences while shooting for the film shot along Kaveri coast. She said that she had to struggle a lot to master the Kannada slang as the film was based on the rural backdrop. Noted character actor Nazar played another major role in the film.
