Director and Lead Cast of ‘Jal’ Interact With Press

The Director of ‘Jal, Girish Malik met the press here today. He was accompanied by the members of the cast Purab Kohli and Kirti Kulhari. The producer of the film, Puneet Singh was also present on the occasion. 

Interacting with mediapersons, Girish Malik said water issues are confronting the world and are being discussed across the globe. In India also, so many stories are being told. He said film ‘Jal’ (water) does not preach about water. In fact, it ends with making one feel about water and compelling to respond, he added. The director said, ‘you make either a good film or a bad film and I don’t go for any differentiation between an entertaining film and an art house niche.’ Sharing the experience of making ‘Jal’, he said, ‘the film has been described as a beautifully photographed tragedy of Shakespearean proportions and this appreciation made us realize that ultimately our vision has been believed by someone.’ Purab Kohli, playing the role of willful water diviner in the film who knows how to find water in the desert, said ‘the kind of response with which this film was received here raises hopes about its success.’
