International crude oil price of Indian Basket increases sharply to 101.46/US$ bbl on 16.5.2013


The international crude oil price of Indian Basket as computed/published today by Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC)
 under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas surged to US$ 101.46/barrel (bbl) on 16.05.2013. This was higher than the price of
US$ 100.06/bbl prevailing on the previous trading day of 15.05.2013.

  The crude oil price in rupee terms also went up to rule at Rs 5556.96 per bbl on 16.05.2013 as
 compared to Rs 5481.29 /bbl on 15.05.2013. This was due to price increase in dollar terms. Rupee dollar exchange rate on
16.05.2013 at Rs 54.77/US$ against Rs 54.78/US$ on previous trading day of 15.05.2013.
