Healthcare Services

The Twelfth Plan strategy is to strengthen initiatives taken in the Eleventh Plan to further expand the reach of health care with focus on vulnerable and marginalized sections of population. The Plan envisages substantial expansion and strengthening of the public health systems and robust provision of primary health care.

At present, there is no proposal with the Government of India for opening hospitals under public – private partnership (PPP mode) in rural and semi urban areas of the country. However, under NRHM, funds are provided to State Governments according to the proposals received from States in their annual State Programme Implementation Plans, which may include opening of new hospitals under PPP mode in the rural and semi-rural areas of the country, as per the felt need of the State/UT Governments.
