The scheme of `Restorative Justice to Victim of Rape’ as a component of Umbrella Scheme for Protection and Empowerment of Women has been formulated by Ministry of Women and Child Development for implementation during the remaining years of the 12th Plan. The Scheme envisages financial assistance of Rs. 1.20 lakhs and provision of support services such as shelter, counselling, medical aid, legal assistance, education and vocational training to rape victim depending upon her need.
This was stated by Smt. Krishna Tirath, Minister for Women and Child Development, in a written reply to the Lok Sabha.
