President confers National Sports Awards 2019 and National Adventure Awards 2018

The President of India Shri Ram NathKovind conferred National Sports Awards 2019 and National Adventure Awards, 2018 in a ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhawan here today. Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Youth Affairs and Sports Shri KirenRijiju was among the dignitaries present on the occasion.

MAULANA ABUL KALAM AZAD (MAKA) TROPHY, 2019 has been conferred on Punjab University, Chandigarh.

Apart from a medal and a citation, Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Awardees have received a cash prize of Rs. 7.5 lakh. Arjuna, Dronacharya and Dhyan Chand Awardees received statuettes, certificates and cash prize of Rs. 5 lakh each. A trophy and citation has been given to the entity in the Rashtriya Khel ProtsahanPuruskar, 2019.Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Awardees have received a statuette, certificates and cash award of Rs. 5 lakh each. Punjab University which is overall top performing university in inter-university tournaments has been given MAKA Trophy, award money of Rs. 15 lakh and certificate.
