India and Poland have agreed for deepening collaboration in culture sector covering diverse activities including conservation, museums, archaeology, archives, science museums, and performing arts. The details of the collaboration were discussed here today in a meeting between Secretary Culture, Shri Ravindra Singh and the visiting Deputy Minister of Culture and National Heritage of Poland Prof. Malgorzata Omilanowska. Prof. Malgorzata Omilanowska, who is on the last day of her 5 day visit to India, appreciated the world heritage sites, namely the Taj Mahal, the Red Fort and the Qutub Minar.
During their 45-minutes meeting, the two sides agreed for collaboration in the following areas:
a. In the run-up to the signing of the Cultural Exchange Program between India and Poland, a Joint Working Group will be set up to identify specific deliverables from both sides and develop an operational plan;
b. Poland will provide opportunity to young artists from India to perform at newly constructed Krysztof Penderecki Luslawice National Music Hall and provide scholarships for emerging talents;
c. The two countries shall develop collaboration in Museum Management. Particular emphasis will be given for development of collaboration with the National Science Centre New Delhi;
d. The two shall develop collaboration in Archives and Modern Art;
e. The two sides agreed to identify projects for restoration. The Polish side expressed interest in restoration work in Gaya.
Prof. Malgorzata Omilanowska extended an invitation to the Secretary Culture to visit Warsaw and take the cooperation forward in the coming months.
