Unified guidelines for LPG distributorships

The Minister of State (I/C) for Petroleum & Natural Gas Shri Dharmendra Pradhan informed the Rajya Sabha in a written reply today that recently, the selection guidelines for LPG distributorship have been modified and Unified Guidelines have been framed for all types of LPG distributorships of Public Sector Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs).  Salient changes made in the Guidelines are as under:-

(i) Four types of LPG distributorships, namely, Sheheri, Rurban, Gramin &  Durgam Kshetriya Vitrak have been introduced.  Setting up of ‘LPG Suvidha Kendra’  in Durgam  areas has also been introduced.

(ii) Maximum age limit has been extended from 45 to 60 years.

(iii) Educational qualification for all types of distributorships has been made uniform and it will be 10th standard.
(iv)  Provision for direct allotment of LPG distributorships to State Government agencies in Durgam Areas has been made.

(v) Reservation for women @ 33 % has been introduced.

(vi) Separate reservation @ 3% for Divyang applicants has been introduced.

(vii) Online selection process for Sheheri Vitraks has been introduced.

            The Selection Guidelines for Retail Outlets were last approved in 2014, which continues.
